OANDA UK appoints James Abbott Chief Revenue Officer

Retail brokerage group OANDA has promoted James Abbott to a new role as Chief Revenue Officer.

Abbott joined the brokerage group in 2018 as a relationship manager on the broker’s HNWI and professional trader desk.

Since then he has been promoted to head up that desk, before becoming Head of Sales for the broker’s UK entity in 2022.

TradeInformer understands that after that appointment, the sales team focus was shifted to putting a big emphasis on customer experience and satisfaction levels.

Comparing recent results to the more ‘normal’ base level periods prior to the pandemic, OANDA’s UK entity has managed to expand at a respectable level.

The brokerage group has also been in the news recently as the company’s owner, private equity group CVC Capital, is attempting to sell the business.

CVC acquired OANDA in 2018, having previously been responsible for taking IG Group private before relisting it in the mid-2000s.
