Brokerage executive Alex Howard has left his role at Aussie broker Eightcap after just under three years at the company.
Howard joined the broker at the start of 2023 as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Joel Murphy, who is still a Chairman at the company, which he founded a decade ago. He was listed as Managing Director for Regulated Markets at the broker prior to his departure.
Howard has worked in the online trading industry for almost two decades.
He had a long stint at IG Group, where held senior roles in the brokerage group’s Japan and Asia-Pacific teams.
After leaving IG in 2018, he went on to work for what was then GAIN Capital – the operator of the City Index and FOREX.com brands.
Howard worked in the firm’s Singapore office as Managing Director for APAC and continued in a senior role, overseeing retail trading, after the company was taken over by StoneX in 2021.
Eightcap’s LATAM Commercial Director also announced he had left the broker on Thursday, moving to rival firm ThinkMarkets.
LinkedIn data shows Eightcap has cut headcount by almost 10% in the last six months.
