TradeInformer understands that JJ Kinahan is set to leave his role at London-listed broker IG Group.
Kinahan is currently the CEO of IG’s North America business, which includes tastytrade and the company’s local OTC FX offering, which was rebranded to tastyfx last year.
The outgoing CEO has 40 years of experience in the financial services industry.
He started out as an options market maker on Cboe in the mid-1980s and worked in that role for two decades.
After leaving the firm in 2005, he went on to work at broker TD Ameritrade for over 16 years, where he was Managing Director.
Kinahan joined tastytrade in 2022 as Vice President and Chief Market Strategist.
Big changes at IG Group
There have been several big changes at IG Group since CEO Breon Corcoran joined the company in January of last year.
The company acquired UK-based retail stockbroker Freetrade, exited the South African market, and recently added physical crypto to its offering.
A number of senior executives have also left the company in that time.
Former UK head Matt Brief left the company earlier this year and a number of long-time executives in marketing and product have also departed.
