TradeInformer understands that Jason Hughes will leave his role at brokerage group eToro next month.
Hughes has been the broker’s Senior Executive Officer in the United Arab Emirates for three years, having joined the firm to help set up its office in the country.
eToro has since gone on to get regulatory approval from the Abu Dhabi Global Market Financial Services Regulatory Authority to operate in the country.
Hughes joined eToro after spending almost two years with Exinity, the holding company that operates several brands, including FXTM and Alpari.
He has worked in the retail trading industry for two decades, having joined IG Group in 2005.
After spending close to eight years with IG, he went on to head up CMC Markets’ Singaporean office. He worked at CMC Markets for four years before moving to ADSS.
eToro is expected to go public later this year. Although the terms of the listing have not been publicised, reports suggest the broker is seeking a $5bn valuation via a US IPO.
