Retail broker IC Markets has hired Kyriacos Hadjikyriacos as its new Risk Manager.
Hadjikyriacos joins the company from IG Group, where he spent the last six years.
He worked for the broker in its trading and operations team in Cyprus, covering both exchange-traded products and over-the-counter derivatives.
After almost three years at the London-listed firm he was promoted to Team Lead in that team.
In his last eight months at the firm, Hadjikyriacos worked as Head of Futures and FX.
Prior to moving to IG Group, Hadjikyriacos worked as an Actuarial Analyst at accounting firm EY and for insurance group Aon.
IG’s office in Cyprus was mainly centred around market making for the group’s German exchange Spectrum Markets.
The broker shut down Spectrum Markets towards the end of last year. The brokerage group has since winded down its operations in the country.
The process for shuttering its operations started in May and is expected to take about 6 months.
IC Markets has gone through something of a restructuring over the last 12 months as well.
Most notably, the broker has shifted its main base of operations to Dubai, where key management are now based. The company is also applying for a local license in United Arab Emirates.
