Online trading executive Katerina Houtri has joined the marketing team at retail broker Key to Markets.
Based in Cyprus, she will work as the company’s Head of Marketing.
She joins the firm from BDSwiss, where she was Global Head of Marketing.
Houtri spent 12 months at the firm and left towards the end of last year, when the broker appears to have faced financial problems. Most of the broker’s senior executive team left around the same or have since departed.
Prior to BDSwiss, she worked for over a decade at rival brand HFM, which was called HotForex up until a rebrand in 2022.
Initially working as a Marketing Coordinator, after joining the firm in 2013, she was promoted on a couple of occasions and ultimately became Marketing Team Leader.
Key to Markets changes
Houtri is the second senior ex-BDSwiss executive to join Key to Markets. Nicole Heinrich, who was Chief Sales Officer at the company, also joined Key to Markets earlier this year. She left BDSwiss around the same time as Houtri.
Owned by Italian businessmen Andrea Sabatini and Giancarmelo Spampinato, Key to Markets has licences in Cyprus and Mauritius.
Like most other brands, the company appears to have switched focus in the last few years to emerging markets.
The company has, for example, been targeting clients in LATAM and Africa. A recent partners event was held in Ghana is illustrative of that.
Having said that, the company has retained its Cypriot license and web traffic data suggests the firm is still doing a lot of business in Italy.
