Mario Martins joins SquaredFinancial from ActivTrades

Brokerage executive Mario Martins has joined SquaredFinancial from rival broker ActivTrades.

Martins was at ActivTrades for over 13 years, having joined the company in early 2011 as an account representative. He was made Senior Business Development Manager in 2019.

Alongside his sales responsibilites, Martins also had to handle relationships with local partners and marketing for the region he covered. He was also a board member for ActivTrade’s locally-regulated Brazilian entity.

It is most likely that Martins, who is a Portuguese speaker, will be working on developing the Brazilian market for SquaredFinancial.

Traffic to the company’s website and the positions it is currently hiring for suggest the firm, like many other providers today, is targeting ASEAN, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

The firm has a couple of employees in Mexico and one representative in Brazil. SquaredFinancial also recently hired Francis Lee as Head of Asia. Lee previously held senior positions at ADS Securities and Saxo Bank.
