Australian broker Pepperstone announced on Monday that it has struck an agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
The sponsorship agreement means that Pepperstone will become the fighting promoter’s Official Partner for Asia.
“We are thrilled to join forces with UFC,” said Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo. “We choose to partner with like-minded organisations focused on a shared passion, drive and commitment to raising the game, and we look forward to building a winning partnership together.”
In a statement, the UFC said that it has over 400m followers in Asia, meaning Pepperstone branding will – in theory – be in front of a huge section of its potential client base.
The broker does business globally. However, Asia appears to be a core market for the firm, with Thailand, Vietnam, and Chinese speakers across the continent all a core part of the firm’s marketing efforts.
This is the second major sports sponsorship agreement Pepperstone has undertaken in the last 12 months.
At the start of this year, the broker announced that John McEnroe had become its Global Tennis Ambassador, with a large ad campaign subsequently built around that.
