Trading executive Samer Alkhaldi has joined Scope Markets as the retail broker’s Regional Head for MENA.
“Financial markets continue to evolve at pace and the growth potential this holds, especially across the MENA region, is unparalleled,” said Alkhaldi. “I am confident that the Scope Markets product set offers a compelling proposition to many more investors and look forward to delivering success here.”
Alkhaldi joins the firm after a brief stint at rival brand HFM, where he was the broker’s Regional Head of Business Development for MENA.
Prior to moving to HFM at the end of last year, Alkhaldi worked for almost a decade at brokerage firm Tickmill.
He was also the broker’s MENA Regional Manager and played a key role in expanding Tickmill’s presence in Arabic-speaking countries.
In his new role at Scope Markets, Alkhaldi will be responsible for doing much of the same, by helping to expand Scope’s presence in the MENA region.
Alkhaldi will be based in Scope Markets’ Cyprus office.
“We are delighted to have Samer joining the team to help drive the company’s ambitions across the MENA region,” said Fraser Nelson, Global Head of Business Development at Scope Markets.
“We already have a strong presence here thanks to our local language support, regulatory understanding and provision of assets that we know are popular with this community of traders. However, we also understand that this is a significant and still growing market – key hires like Samer will help us realise the full potential here.”
