The TON community’s rebrand of its native token from Toncoin to Gram took effect on Monday, June 15, 2026, changing the asset’s ticker from TON to GRAM while the blockchain network name remains TON / The Open Network.

A governance vote that ran from June 1 to June 8 returned 81.22% support for the proposal.

The change is only a presentation-layer rename. Balances, addresses, smart contracts, staking positions, NFTs, Jettons and DeFi holdings are unchanged, and no token swap, migration, bridge or claim is required from holders.

What platforms need to update

Exchanges, wallets and explorers need to update asset names, tickers, trading pairs, deposit and withdrawal labels, logos, APIs, help-center references and historical labels. TONUSDT, for example, becomes GRAMUSDT. The official integration brief recommends platforms display “Gram (prev. Toncoin)” for a three-month transition period, with full ecosystem-wide consistency expected by June 22.

The brief also warns that any website, bot or message asking users to “migrate TON to GRAM,” “claim your GRAM” or “convert TON to GRAM” is a scam.

The name Gram appeared in TON’s original technical documentation, and the community has framed the change as a return to the project’s original identity as Telegram takes a more active role in the network’s validator set and technical roadmap.
