Broker executive Torrell Fernandes has joined Aussie broker Fusion Markets as its new Global Head of Sales.
Fernandes left IG Group last year and took some time away from the broker industry.
The new Fusion Markets executive has worked in financial services for over a decade. However, he moved into the online trading industry in 2018 when he joined GO Markets as an Account Manager.
After spending just under a year with the broker, he moved to IG Group and worked as a New Business Associate from the London-listed firm’s Melbourne office.
Fernandes spent almost five years at the broker and was promoted on several occasions. He was ultimately made Team Lead Manager for the broker’s Premium Client desk.
During his time in that position, he played a key role in overseeing the company’s efforts to attract and retain high value clients in Australia and New Zealand.
Fusion Markets
Fusion markets was set up in 2019 by former Axi and Pepperstone exec Phil Horner. The company is also backed by Aussie firm Gleneagle Securities.
The company has grown headcount by more than 60% over the last two years.
Fusion Markets has licences in Australia and Vanuatu.
The company is striking in that, despite being a fairly new brand, it seems to pay a lot to appear on larger affiliate sites. This is something you typically see more established players doing.
