Retail brokerage executive Torrell Fernandes has left IG Group.
Fernandes was based in the brokerage group’s Melbourne office and was the Team Lead Manager for the company’s Australian premium client desk.
He joined IG Group five years ago as a New Business Associate, before being promoted to a Consultant role in the same team shortly afterwards.
At the start of 2021 Fernandes moved over to the premium client desk, before being made Team Lead Manager in July of the same year.
Prior to joining IG Group, Fernandes had a short stint at GO Markets, another Australian broker with offices in Melbourne.
Australia is consistently one of the largest business regions, in terms of revenue, for IG Group, as it is with the other London-listed brokers.
In its last financial year, which ends at the close of May, revenue from the Australian branch of IG Group totalled £84.7m. This was the second-biggest contributor, on a regional basis, after the UK.
