Sergei Riabov, the former Head of Product at Trading 212, has left the broker after just six months in the role.

The executive announced his departure in a LinkedIn post on Thursday, describing the move as an opportunity to focus full-time on developments in the artificial intelligence sector.

“I’m mind-blown by how fast AI has moved these past months,” Riabov said. “Enough that I want to step out and focus on it fully.”

Riabov joined Trading 212 in December last year from Revolut. At the time, he said he was attracted by the company’s product-led culture and the opportunity to work on a platform used by millions of retail investors.

In his departure announcement, Riabov said the company had made significant progress during his tenure, citing the launch of new products, platform improvements, and what he described as major advances in AI-related initiatives.

“The environment is rare,” he said. “The pace the company moves at, the depth of data, and teams genuinely open to learning and taking on hard challenges.”

Riabov did not announce a new role but said he plans to focus on understanding how the AI industry is evolving and identifying areas where he can make a longer-term commitment. He added that he would continue advisory work alongside those efforts.
