Brokerage group VT Markets has quietly launched a prop trading arm.
The brand is called VFTradings and offers clients two types of challenges, across six different account sizes.
Those accounts range from $5,000 at the low end to $200,000 at the top.
Fees for the challenges start at $59 and go up to $2,099 for the most expensive.
Much of the branding and styling of the challenges is around racing, which may be part of the wider group’s branding initiatives, given the firm currently has a sponsorship agreement with Maserati’s Formula E racing team.
VT Markets is the latest in a series of brokers that has opted to branch out into offering a funded trader or ‘prop trading’ product.
IC Markets, Taurex, and Blueberry are just some of the brands that have launched a prop product.
Like most of those other brands, VT Markets has structured the product so that it is separate from its core brokerage business. Traders from Australia also appear to be geoblocked from accessing the website or signing up to it.
As noted in a recent TradeInformer article, there is a back and forth happening in the prop space at the moment, with technology provider MetaQuotes pushing props to associate their product with their regulated entity, something companies are seemingly reluctant to do, given the current lack of regulatory oversight of the product.
