Foreign exchange (FX) executive Marek Lewandowski has joined Spark Systems as the company’s new Head of Sales for the EMEA and Americas regions.
Spark Systems is based in Singapore and sells foreign exchange trading platforms and technology to various market participants, including brokers, banks, buy-side firms, and professional traders.
Spark raised funds from investors in a Series C round last year, with brokerage group ATFX among the participants in that funding round. Banks HSBC and Citibank also took part in that round.
Lewandowski has worked in FX sales roles for almost three decades.
He started his career at Bloomberg in the late 1990s and went to hold senior sales roles at a number of companies in the FX industry over the next decade, including Tradeweb and SuperDerivatives.
Starting in 2010, Lewandowski worked on the FX sales desk at HSBC, selling into buy-side participants, where he stayed for over five years.
More recently, he was Sales Director for eFX at FlexTrade, a technology provider that works across a number of different asset classes.
Before joining Spark, Lewandowski was EMEA Head for Smart Mosaic Data, another technology provider that sells data analysis and visualisation tools to financial services companies.
