Broker executive Carey Gao has moved to Aussie firm Axi as APAC Regional Director.

Gao made the move from rival broker Pepperstone, where he spent just over a year – also as the broker’s regional director.

The new Axi executive has over two decades of experience in the retail trading industry.

He started out at GAIN Capital in 2002 and spent a decade at the firm as Country Sales Manager and then Regional Director. The latter role was working on the company’s Forex.com brand.

After leaving GAIN Capital, Cao had a short stint at Alpari before having two lengthy stints at Markets.com and then Exness.

In both cases he was managing the brokers’ business development efforts in China and other parts of Southeast Asia.
