Capital.com hires Revolut exec as MENA Head of Risk

Retail broker Capital.com has hired Tarek Mahassen as the Head of Risk for the MENA region.

Mahassen will be based in the broker’s Dubai office and work alongside regional CEO Tarik Chebib.

He joins the broker from banking and money management app Revolut, where he was a senior operational risk manager for the group.

Mahassen also had a brief stint at German stockbroker Trade Republic and worked at buy now pay later company Klarna for almost five years.

Capital.com received a license from the local regulator in Dubai earlier this year.

The company is regularly one of the most downloaded financial apps across the Middle East and the broker’s former CEO told TradeInformer that the region is one of its most successful geographies.
