Retail broker NAGA announced on Tuesday that it will be the main Official Sponsor for the United Arab Emirates national football team at the WMF World Cup later this month.
The WMF tournament focuses on so-called minifootball, which is 5-a-side and 6-a-side games. Most players are amateur or semiprofessional.
The first tournament was held a decade ago in 2015 and runs every two years. This year’s tournament will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with 32 countries represented at the games.
NAGA will be the main shirt sponsor for the UAE team during the tournament. The broker’s branding will appear on the player’s front shirts as a result.
The country’s national team are set to play at least three games during the tournament, against Argentina, Georgia, and the Czech Republic.
NAGA has taken several steps to expand in the Middle East over the last couple of years. The region generated almost 40% of group level revenues in 2024, which was largely due to CAPEX.com’s success there. CAPEX merged with NAGA last year to form one larger group entity.
The broker has also undertaken a couple of sports sponsorship efforts in the last 12 months. That included the renewal of an existing deal with Borussia Dortmund and a partnership with boxer Mike Tyson.
