Abu Dhabi-based brokerage group ADSS has hired Dan Squires as its new Chief Commercial Officer.
Squires joins the brokerage group from Saxo Bank’s UK entity, where he was also Chief Commercial Officer.
He spent just over two years in the Danish broker’s London office, having originally joined as Head of Sales.
Squires has worked in financial services for three decades, with a large chunk of his career spent in sales roles at investment banks.
That includes stints at Merrill Lynch, Citi, and Canadian firm RBC. More recently, he spent over five years at Liquidnet, a trading network that lets financial institutions trade with more anonymity.
ADSS – back again?
ADSS has gone through several ups and downs over the years, with a couple of senior executives leaving the firm recently.
After operating in the country for over a decade, the brokerage group also pulled out of the UK in 2023.
The company has had a strong footprint in the Middle East due to its roots in the region. However, other firms, like Equiti, CFI, and Amana, have taken market share from the firm over the last few years.
Beyond its regular retail brokerage brand, the company has also taken steps to add a wealth management offering for higher value clients and wealth managers, operating under the ADS Investment Solutions brand.
