The Head of Risk Management at retail brokerage group eToro has left the firm after almost four years with company.
Shir Shalom joined eToro in late 2021 and was initially Chief of Staff, working alongside the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO.
During her time in that role, she oversaw a budget of $30m and led initiatives that saw eToro cut its expenses by $12m.
She also oversaw various operational initiatives, such as the acquisition of new regulatory licences and set ups related to safeguarding client funds.
In 2023, Shalom was promoted to Head of Risk Management at the broker, covering different facets of eToro’s business. That included overseeing risks associated with finances, operations, and technology.
Prior to joining eToro, Shalom worked at Big Four accounting firm KPMG for almost three years.
She then went on to work at rival consulting conglomerate Accenture for over five years. During her time at Accenture she worked as a financial consultant and a technology consultant.
eToro has seen a couple of high profile departures over the last few months.
Most recently, the company’s long-time media and marketing exec Shiran Hertzberg left the company to join insurance company Lemonade.
