New broker Fintrix Markets has hired Mariana Begu as the head of its Cyprus office.
She joins the firm from rival brand Pepperstone, where she spent the last five years working in the Aussie broker’s Cypriot office.
Begu was initially a Team Leader for Onboarding and a Product Analyst at the firm. During her final year-and-a-half with the broker, she worked as Global Onboarding Manager.
The new Fintrix Markets exec got her start in the industry at XM in 2013.
She worked as a Customer Care Officer for the broker, before becoming team lead for the company’s support team.
During her final nine months at XM, Begu worked as a Marketing Project Coordinator.
Fintrix Markets was founded last year by former Pepperstone executive Gordon Buchanan.
The company has only really gone live this year, having acquired a Mauritius license in the summer.
At least seven executives at the firm, including Buchanan and Begu, used to work at Pepperstone. That includes dealing exec Peter Spanos, payments head Sophie Kung, and Scott Redford, who has also historically worked on dealing and risk.
