Crypto.com plans CFD launch, acquires Aussie broker

Crypto broker and trading platform Crypto.com has acquired Fintek Securities, a CFD provider regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Fintek does have a website that is up and running but it gets almost no traffic and there is little transparency on who owns and operates the website.

The acquisition fits with the product roadmap that Crypto.com has published, showing that it wants to add more ‘traditional’ investment products, outside of its regular crypto offering.

That includes adding equities investing across all major markets by Q1 of 2025, with plans to add equity options in the US and CFD products in the US, Europe, and Australia later in the year.

“The path of the Crypto.com roadmap is to ambitiously expand our offering by providing customers the most comprehensive set of financial services, and this acquisition is the latest step in that journey,” said Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, about the Fintek acquisition.

“The goal is to create one destination for all financial services where users can simplify their experience and maximize rewards.”
