Salim Sebbata joins Capital.com as Head of M&A

Retail broker Capital.com has hired Salim Sebbata as its Head of M&A and Corporate Development.

Sebbata joins the firm from APM Capital Markets. APM is a UAE-headquartered firm, which acquired the FCA-regulated entity of neobroker Dutch earlier this year.

After APM completed the acquisition, Sebbata was made CEO of the new firm. Previously he had been Managing Director of Stryk, the CFD trading arm of BUX.

Sebbata has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years.

He has held roles at Merrill Lynch, as well as E*TRADE. More recently he was the Head of Middle East for CMC Markets.

Capital.com announced big expansion plans earlier this week. The company said it wants to double the size of its engineering department as part of a wider effort to hire at least 200 new employees.
